INTRODUCING YOUR SECRET WEAPON
Some golfers say confidence is the No. 1 key to good putting.
But that begs an obvious question: If you don’t have confidence, how do you get it?
Usually, it comes from out of the blue – say, when the hole gets in the way of a 15-footer that’s headed off the green. Suddenly, the cup looks as wide as a sumo wrestler’s waistline.
Hey, there’s nothing like seeing a putt drop to boost the spirits.
That kind of confidence, though, tends to be fleeting.
You’ve got it for a few holes, then POOF! It vanishes quicker than you can say “lipped it out.”
It doesn’t last because it’s based on one lucky putt.
So the real question is:
How do you build genuine rock-solid confidence - the kind that holds up on every length of putt, under pressure, round after round?
"Pfft, that's the easy part," you may be thinking. But you'd be wrong. The vast majority of golfers misalign at least some of their putts. This includes the 25-foot uphiller with a 4-foot swing, and the downhill tester that needs to be jusssssst inside the right edge.
Newsflash: There’s a 90% chance you’re not aimed where you think you are on at least some of your putts. Which means that if you want to make more putts and three-putt less often, you need help.
Even the greatest golfers in the world
are constantly striving to improve alignment
Of course, there are plenty of ways to improve your alignment.
Doing drills. Marking lines on your ball. Trying any of the million training aids on the market.
But none of those actually guarantee that your putter’s face will be lined up dead-solid-perfect…
None of them except BLOODLINE
Fundamentals you can trust.
And the No. 1 fundamental in putting is…?
No, not your grip.
Nope, not the angle of your arms or the rocking of your shoulders.
Actually, the fundamental skill that will most improve your putting is…
AIMING the putter face PRECISELY down the target line.
With an ultra-light carbon fiber shaft and lightweight grip, we have created a super-low balance point, give our putters superior stability throughout the stroke and exceptional forgiveness on miss-hits.
Add it to your putter and you can see why this technology has won over thousands of skeptical golfers and earned boatloads of praise.
YOUR SECRET WEAPON WILL MAKE THE LINE ON THE BALL OBSOLETE...
Read the green and pick your line, just like always.
After that, it couldn't be any easier:
1) Stand behind the ball and place the putter directly behind it.
2) While maintaining contact use the framing sight-lines to point directly on your line.
3) Step around the putter, set your feet and shoulders, and lightly adjust your hands on the grip.
4) Take a look or two at the cup
5) Stroke that sucker straight into the hole.
Here are a few drills that would be good to start with to begin improving skills with your training shaft. These drills should be done twice a week and take around 30 minutes. Feel free to implement variations and other drills.
CALIBRATION DRILL: (10 MIN)
This drill will calibrating your eyes so that you can have confidence in your line when standing over your putt.
Set up 4 tees in a square with a ball in the middle. The tees should be 4 feet away from the ball.
Start at one tee and aim your putter in the way players traditionally do (not from behind).
Let go of the putter and check your aim. Adjust the putter to be aimed directly at the ball.
Step back over the putt and look back and fourth 5 times.
Move to the next tee position and repeat.
NOTE: Do not worry about break or hitting the putt. This drill is strictly for your eyes.
GATE DRILL: (10 MIN)
This drill will focus on starting your putt on your target line by only worrying about the first two feet of the put.
Find a flat spot on the green and set up two tees 4 feet apart. Then about 6" in front of your target tee set up a gate two inches apart on that line.
Start by setting up your putt and aiming from behind.
Make a stroke focusing on squaring the putter face at impact.
Step away and repeat steps 2 and three.
GOAL: Hit the tee on 5/7 putts.
Repeat this drill until you are consistently hitting the tee making any adjustments to your putting stroke.
NOTE: Hit the first 5 putts without altering your stroke to learn your tendency.
LAG DRILL: (10 MIN)
This drill will focus on your tempo on longer putts and getting a feel for how to control the head weight at this distance.
Set up a square of tees 2 feet wide around the hole.
Find a spot 15 feet away with minimal break
Hit 10 putts trying to get them to stop within the box.
GOAL: 6 out of 10 in box
Move your starting position by 5 feet closer or further away and repeat.
NOTE: Make sure you step back between each putt to simulate real round situations
