The 5 courses that have had the most aces on the PGA Tour

Did you know that there have been four hole-in-ones on the PGA Tour in the past five events of the 2023 season and two of them came during the first round of the 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship? MJ Daffue and Brandon Wu both aced the 4th hole during their opening rounds of the tournament at The Country Club of Jackson in Jackson, Miss. That got us to thinking. Which courses on the PGA Tour have had the most hole-in-ones?

According to tour statistics, these courses have had the most aces in official stroke play events on the PGA TOUR since 1983:

TPC Scottsdale – 29 Aces

TPC Scottsdale is the home of the Phoenix Open, known as “The Greatest Show on Grass”. This course has been the site of 28 hole-in-ones. The par-3 16th, known as “The Coliseum,” is one of the highlights of the tournament, providing a stadium atmosphere with a 20,000-seat enclosure around the green. Crowds go bonkers if there is an ace on the hole. Sam Ryder notched his first career PGA Tour hole-in-one during the third round of the 2022 WM Phoenix Open and experience the chaos firsthand.

TPC Sawgrass – 32 Aces

The signature island green on the par-3, 17th hole of The Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass is one of the most recognized in golf and the course is consistently named among the best in the world. However, most of the 31 aces that have occurred on the course have been at the 13th hole, with a dozen since 1983.

Westchester CC – 32 Aces

When Westchester Country Club in New York hosted PGA TOUR events, it was not uncommon to see a hole-in-one or two. The course has been the site of 32 aces, and the 6th hole has produced 19 hole-in-ones, which holds the record for the highest overall number for any hole on the PGA TOUR.

TPC River Highlands – 37 Aces

TPC River Highlands is the home of the Travelers Championship and has also been the setting for 36 hole-in-ones on the tour. 20 of these aces came on the 11th and 16th holes. The course also boasts a rare occurrence on tour. At the 1955 Insurance City Open at TPC River Highlands, Bill Whedon carded two aces, in the same round, on the front nine!

Riviera CC – 38 Aces

Currently home to The Genesis Invitational, Riviera Country Club will also host the 2028 Olympics golf tournament. Riviera currently holds the record for hole-in-ones, with an impressive number of 38 since 1983.  The par-3 16th has provided 12 aces and the sixth hole has provided 18. Ironically, the sixth hole is one of the most 4-putted greens, so if you don’t get it in the hole on your first shot, you better have a putter that you’re confident in!
